Maserati goes from Supercars to Super Phones

It’s been described as the best sound to come out of a car. Ever. And now it’s available on a mobile phone.

The truly epic aural assault that is the operatic sound of a Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale under full blast acceleration is now available as a mobile phone ring tone as part of the launch of Maserati Apps for the iPhone and iPad.

“How could we have a multimedia Maserati experience and not include the awesome sound of Maserati GranTurismo’s acclaimed V8?” asks Glen Sealey, General Manager of Maserati Australia and New Zealand. “And once we had made it part of our new Apps, how could we not also make it available as ring tone sound? It is a sound that has developed its own legend, with YouTube videos and web sites celebrating the unique, heroic qualities of the music made a Maserati GranTurismo and, in the form of the MC Stradale, in its ultimate guise. There can be little doubt that soon as well as the best roads in the world ringing to the sound of the GranTurismo, so will mobile phones across Australia and New Zealand.”

Maserati is enjoying strong growth and demand for its products, with the Quattroporte lifting its sales by 90 per cent this year and the GranTurimso MC Stradale all but sold out before its arrival in Australia this month (June 2011).

“To maintain these levels of growth we have to look well beyond our traditional customers and when we talk to people who have not enjoyed the unique Maserati experience, clearly we have to provide them with more information,” explains Mr Sealey. “This is not just the emotional experience of Maserati ownership, but also the detailed information on our cars and the support systems that are in place for owners. The iPad and iPhone Apps are an ideal way in which to provide this information, as they provide easy access to a depth of information, supported by a breadth of pictures and sounds that could not be provided by any other means in such a personal and personalised fashion.”

The Maserati App, which has been developed in Australia specifically for Australian and New Zealand consumers, contains detailed information on Maserati products, services and news, is available from the iTunes Store.
